Studio 23 is hard at work in preparation for its upcoming Dance Theatre event, Dance Me A Story.

This production is set for Sunday, November 6^th, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). Through Dance Me A Story, they hope to help raise the standard of dance, performance art and similar events in Kuching through promoting understanding, interest and appreciation of dance. Up to 100 performers will be showcased in this production, most of whom are local Kuchingnites.

November 6 is set to be a night of many firsts for Kuchingnites, who will experience something that they have not yet seen on their home soil; a show that rivals any local performance that can be found in Kuala Lumpur, or even regionally. Studio 23 believes that local performers can have an international standard and be the equal of many others – and aims to set the bar for future performances of this calibre as well as inspire others to do the same.

In addition, another major goal for this event is to highlight the problem of domestic violence. To this end, Studio 23 is working very closely with the Sarawak for Women Society (SWWS) in order to raise awareness of domestic violence and offer support and aid to women in need.

Dance me a Story is the result of 2 years planning and writing, 1 year of learning choreographies, 3 months of intensive rehearsals and 2 auditions. Join Studio 23 on November 6^th and help not only to support a very worthy cause, but also to build the future performing arts in Kuching and beyond.

Studio 23 is a Dance and Fitness centre located in Kuching. Since 2009, Studio 23 has provided dance, fitness and martial arts classes with the goal of impacting the community through cultivating and atmosphere of positivity and creativity.
